A porch roof on a Warren County duplex collapsed Thursday night after a vehicle crashed into the building.
Police were called for the collision at about 10:46 p.m. in the 100 block of Washington Street in Greenwich Township.
The car was traveling east on Greenwich Street, when it went through the intersection with North Main Street and hit the multi-family home on Washington Street, the Stewartsville Volunteer Fire Company said.
The vehicle sideswiped the building, shearing the porch posts, and then continued traveling down the sidewalk before coming to rest partially on the sidewalk and partially on the road.
The porch roof collapsed while personnel were inside helping occupants get outside, the fire company said.
Greenwich Township police are investigating, and did not immediately return a message seeking details about the crash and if anyone was injured.
Washington Street between Main Street and Willow Grove Road was closed until about 1:40 a.m. Friday.
In addition to township police and the fire company, Lopatcong Township police, Police, Greenwich Rescue Squad, paramedics from Hunterdon Medical Center, and the Greenwich Department of Public Works were at the scene.
