Police issue 2 arrest warrants after 58-year-old woman shot, killed in Washington
Washington City Police issued arrest warrants for two men allegedly involved in the shooting death of a 58-year-old woman Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
Police are searching for Brandon Ronald Allen, 30, and Javarr Thomas, 27, both of Washington. They are charged with criminal homicide and criminal attempt homicide after Kristen A. Barfield was found around 5:10 p.m. on the front porch of a Ridge Avenue home with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to criminal complaints. She later died at the hospital.
During an investigation, police found that Barfield was sitting on the front porch with a man when “numerous gunshots were fired from the defendant’s vehicle, which was traveling north on Ridge Avenue,” the complaint reads.
At the time, a witness was walking to the home when he saw a Chrysler 300 pull off East Hallam onto Ridge Avenue. As the vehicle approached, he saw Allen seated in the back, with Thomas driving. The man told police he saw Allen “point a handgun out of the back passenger side window and fire numerous rounds in his direction,” the complaint reads.
Allen is described as 5 foot 11 inches and weighing 180 pounds.
According to the complaint, a background check was conducted, revealing that in December 2018 Allen was convicted of aggravated assault making it illegal for him to possess a gun.
Thomas is described as 5 foot 5 inches and weighing 150 pounds.
Both men are considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information on the men can contact Washington City Police at 724-223-4226 or Washington County dispatchers.
