Voters in Luzerne, Schuylkill and Carbon counties might go to new polling places and greet new poll workers during the general election Tuesday.
With a large turnout anticipated, counties added polling places in some municipalities, switched the location of polls in others and hired more poll workers, including younger people to replace older workers who stepped down because they are more susceptible to COVID-19.
In Freeland, residents who’ve historically voted at the Freeland Event Center will vote at the Freeland Ambulance Association, 417 Johnson St.
Hazleton residents voted in either of two schools in the primary, but for Tuesday the city has 11 wards that will vote in six locations, none of which are schools.
They are Wards 1 and 2, Catholic Social Services; Wards 3 and 4, Southside Fire Station; Ward 5, Terrace Plaza; Ward 6, 14th Ward Fire Station; Wards 8 and 10, City Hall; Wards 9 and 11, Our Lady of Grace Church.
Voters can find their ward number on voter registration cards.
Or voters can find their polling place by typing their address into a website of the Pennsylvania Department of State.
Luzerne County’s Election lists the location of all its polling places on a website, too.
Meanwhile, Hazle Twp. has five wards and three polling places, the same as during the primary. Ward 1 votes at Harwood Fire Company, Wards 2 and 3 at Hazle Twp. Commons Building and Wards 4 and 5 at Hazle Twp. Fire Company.
Butler Twp. also has five wards, but two polling places. The polling places are Butler Twp. Community Center for Wards 1 and 5 and the township municipal building for Wards 2, 3 and 4.
Black Creek Twp. and Conyngham Borough residents vote at their municipal buildings.
All Rice Twp. residents will vote at Rice Elementary School.
All West Hazleton residents will vote at the West Hazleton Middle School, as they did during the primary.
Residents of Sugarloaf Twp. who live in Wards 1 and 2 will vote at Sugarloaf Volunteer Fire Company. Ward 3 residents vote at Sugarloaf Municipal Building.
In Wright Twp., residents in Wards 1 and 2 will vote at Crestwood High School, 281 South Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Residents of Wards 3 and 4 will vote at Mountain Top Family Church, 209 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.
In Carbon County, residents of Lehigh and Lausanne townships will vote together at the Lehigh Twp. Municipal Building.
East Side Borough residents will vote in Golden Oaks Village, 3 Keystone Commons, White Haven, where residents of Kidder Twp.’s North Ward also vote.
Kidder’s South Ward votes at Kidder Twp. Municipal Building.
In Beaver Meadows, voters will cast ballots at the borough hall, while Banks Twp. residents vote at Tresckow Fire Company.
Weatherly residents in the East Ward will vote at Eurana Park while the West Ward residents will vote at American Legion Post No. 560.
In Packer Twp. the polls are at the municipal building on Hudson Drive.
Nesquehoning voters in the East Ward will vote at Nesquehoning Fire Company, but the West Ward votes at Nesquehoning Recreation Center.
All three wards of Lansford vote in the borough hall.
In Summit Hill, Wards 1 and 2 vote in borough hall, Ward 3 votes at the American Legion and Ward 4 at Carbon County Environmental Education Center.
Schuylkill County has new sites for some polling places.
In Tamaqua, voting for Ward 3 moved to Tamaqua Borough Hall. Residents vote in the 1st Ward at Trinity United Church of Christ, in the 2nd Ward at East End fire Company and in the 4th Ward at South Ward Fire Company.
All three wards in Rush Twp. vote at Hometown Fire Company and all three wards in Schuylkill Haven vote at Schuylkill Haven Community Center.
Minersville moved Ward 2 to Mountaineer Hose Co. Ward 1 votes at the Water Authority, Ward 3 at the rear of Minersville Fire and Rescue and Ward 4 at the lower level of the new Minersville Fire Company.
Other Schuylkill residents will vote in familiar polling places.
McAdoo voters go to Keystone Fire Company in Ward 1 and The Strand in Ward 2.
In Coaldale the polls are at borough hall for the East Ward and Coaldale Complex Building, 150 W. Phillips St., for the West Ward.
Delano Twp. residents vote at Delano Fire Company.
East Union Twp. and North Union Twp. residents vote in their township municipal buildings.
Residents of Frackville from the Middle and North Wards vote in the Senior Citizen’s Building. The South Ward votes at Good Will Fire Company.
Mahanoy City residents vote in West End Fire Company for Ward 1, Schuylkill Regional Resource Center for Ward 2, the township municipal building for Ward 3 and Good American Hose Company for Ward 4.
Ringtown residents vote at Ringtown Area Senior Citizens.
