The scene of a fatal fire in the 1400 block of North 15th Street.
Fire crews in Harrisburg were called to the scene of a fatal fire Sunday.
Emergency dispatch services says the call for the fire came in just before 5 p.m. to North 15th Street between Reily and Calder streets.
Firefighters say they rescued someone from the second floor, but moments later a deceased victim was found on the first floor.
The first person is in stable condition. The name of the second person has not been released.
Harrisburg Fire Chief Enterline says his crew’s quick actions prevented a worse outcome saying, “Had they not acted as quickly as what they did with the help of EMS, we’d probably be talking about a second fatality.”
Enterline says the home has mostly smoke and heat damage and nearby homes were not affected.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
