The Cumberland County coroner has identified the man who died early Wednesday morning after a truck hit him at a Silver Springs Township intersection.
Coroner Charles Hall said township resident Mason A. Taylor, 26, was killed around 3:53 a.m. near the intersection of North Locust Point Road and Carlisle Pike. A truck without a trailer hit Taylor in the area of a marked crosswalk, according to township police Chief Christopher Raubenstine.
Hall said Taylor was wearing dark clothing and it was very dark outside at the time of the crash.
Police said the driver immediately stopped and has been cooperating with police. No charges have been filed.
Lane restrictions were in place Wednesday morning while authorities investigated.
The Cumberland County Coroner’s Office and Crash Team assisted at the scene, as well as local fire, fire police and EMS personnel.
