Chief 41-9 established command and advised a he had 2 subjects trapped in one car and another subject trapped in another car. Command requested 2 Pennstar helicopters to the scene however recalled one helicopter after extrication was complete. All subjects were extricated within 30mins.

Station 319 originally dispatched for an MVA. Police O/L reporting entrapment, and to have the F.D. respond to the scene. Task Force 312 was dispatched bringing Rescue 3119, Engine 3121 & the Medics to the scene. Chief 3101 O/L confirming one victim trapped in the vehicle; checking the other vehicle. R3119 went in service with the rescue tools as E3121 stood by with a charged handline. C3101 reporting the victim to be extricated at 22:06 HRS. 3101 requested additional BLS to the scene. All units cleared the scene within the hour.

Squad 73 arrived on scene first and told county dispatch they had a two vehicle crash with one trapped in the vehicle. Rescue Company 738 arrived and went to work, assisted by Engine 631, to pop the door. After the extrication, two patients were transported to hospitals and the crews stood by to assist the tow crews. Units were available within the hour. Update August 24 A 94 year old female was pronounced dead, do to injuries cause by this accident at Cooper Trauma, involving a pelvic injury and femur bone damage.

Chief-52 arrived on scene with heavy fire showing from a two story vacant dwelling. Placed all hands in service. Command reported dwelling fully involved all companies in service with exterior attack. One firefighter was transported to the hospital with a laceration.
The fire was ruled arson after two juveniles were caught running from the home.

Battalion 1104 (Palumbo) arrived O/L to find a 1 1/2 story SFD with light smoke showing from the roof area. Ladder 1194, Squrt 114, and Engine 1191 operated on a fire in the walls of the dwelling. Crews utilized 1 1 3/4 handline and the Truck Co. performed ventilation work. The fire was placed under control quickly and held with 2 and 1. No injuries were reported at the scene and local and county marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.

Details:

R232 arrived to find a head on collision involving a dump truck and Subaru Brat. R232, E232 and Shamong's Rescue operated to free the occupant of the Subaru. The patient was heavily entrapped but was extricated at the 40 minute mark and transported to South Star. NJSP are investigating the accident.
