Dwelling Fire - Muhlenberg Township

Chief 10-10 arrived on the scene of a working chimney fire. The chief requested his initial companies dispatched for a working chimney fire. Upon further investigation Wyomissing Truck 79 was special called to the scene along with the 1st alarm bringing Station 11 (Temple Fire Co.) Companies had minor ext. into a two story S/F/D. Truck 79 opened up around the exterior of the chimney while crews checked for any further ext. in the dwelling. The fire was placed under control at 08:07 and companies 13 and 11 were released holding company 10 and truck 79 on the scene to assist the fmo with an investigation.

Battalion 7 reported a 2 story M/O/R occupied dwelling 15x45 heavy smoke first and second floor,all hands were used to bring the fire under control,no injuries reported, additional Medic unit for rehab due to weather.

PD arrived on the scene and reported a fully involved structure. Engine 13 arrived on the scene and went in service with 1 3/4" handline to the interior. Co's performed searches all coming up negative. Initial reports from neighbors in the areas reported explosions previous to the fire. The resident of the home advised companies there was oxygen and acetylene in the garage used for a cutting torch. The fire was placed under control at 03:19. Ems treated two civilian injuries, no other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshall.

Command reported fire showing Division A of a S/F/D. One civilian patient was transported by Skycare with serious burns. Three civilians were transported with minor smoke inhalation to area hospitals, Command switched to defensive operations due to heavy fire conditions.

Engine-16 reported heavy smoke showing from the front of a three stand alone, 16x50 with heavy smoke showing and fire in the rear. B/C-11 placed all hands in service on the box for heavy fire through out. Command ordered all companies out of the dwelling and went in service with an exterior attack.

Dwelling Fire - Maidencreek Twp

Companies 12, 11, 32 , and squad 520 were dispatched to 127 West Wesner Rd. for a reported bedroom fire. Chief 12-10 arrived on the scene and reported a 2stry single family dwelling with moderate smoke showing from the 2nd floor and attic area. Truck 12 arrived on the scene, with a crew and performed a quick search and found the seat of the fire to be in a 2nd floor bedroom on the "B" side of the structure. Engine 12-2 arrived on the scene with a crew. Crews pulled a 200' 1 3/4" handline to he second floor and performed a fire attack while another crew started to prepare for ventilation. The bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down. Crews from company 11 assisted the interior crews while company 32 stoodby outside in the man power pool. Crews pulled ceilings and portions of the wall to check for any extentions. Apparatus on the scene was Truck 12, Engine 12-2, Engine 11-1, Rescue 11, Engine 32-1, Engine 32-2, Tanker 32, and squad 520 (EMS). Officers in charge of the scene was Chief 12-10 and Assistant 12-12. While companies were on the scene of the fire Companies 37 and Rescue 45 covered for Company 12 for an overturned vehicle with confinement at Rt. 222 and Rt. 73. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation. No injuries were reported.

Six Alarm Building Fire - City of Philadelphia

B/C-4 had smoke showing from the second and third floors of a four story irregular shape warehouse, 300x75. Command reported crews made access to the building and found fire, requested two additional ladders above the box to assist in ventilation. The second alarm was requested and companies were evacauted from the building due to heavy fire through out the bldg. Third and fourth alarm were struck and all companies went in service with heaviest water lines. The fifth alarm was requested and with additional Pipeline Co.s and Snorkel-5 . The fire was placed under control after 6 alarms were dispatched at 19:25. *Note PFN Staff was on the scene just after the box was struck and you can see how the fire developed.

Upon commands arrival, heavy fire was reported to be showing on the B-side of the apartment dwellings. Engine company 26-1 and ladder company 26-1 arrived quickly and went to work attempting to contain the blaze. Fire personnel on location make a quick, aggressive interior attack and kept the blaze from completely destroying the homes. Mutual aid was requested upon the confirmation of a working fire. Pitman answered the call and provided extra man-power and support in the efforts of extinguishing the blaze. Crews contained the fire in approximately 40 minutes. 2nd Alarm covers were placed in service as well as a canteen unit to help provide those on location with refreshments. Sundays blaze, goes down as the coldest fire of the season with wind-chill temperatures in the single digits. Wind gusts also played a role, as wind-spread fire attempted to take control of the dwelling catching crews off guard, but even with the best efforts of the blaze, firefighters were able to gain the upper hand on the fire. Companies arrived on the scene of a 2 story middle of the row with light to medium smoke showing from the 2nd floor rear. Batt. put 2&2 in service and filled out the box. Companies made quick work of the fire placeing it under control some 15 minutes later. The red cross was requested to the scene for 5 displaced victims of the home. No injuries were reported.

Companies arrived on the scene with nothing showing. Upon further investigation a basement fire was located thus filling out the box. Batt. placed 2+2 in service. The fire was in a 2 story middle of the row. Fire was placed under control within 10minutes of the box being filled out. No injuries were reported.

Battalion 11 arrived on the scene and reported a 4 story brick occupied apartment building with fire on the 2nd floor in a kitchen with occupants trapped on the fire floor. Companies quickly made entry and rescued the trapped occupants. All other occupants had exited the building. Battalion put 2 engins and 2 ladders in service. Fire was placed under control at 03:10AM.
