Rescue-29 arrived to find a vehicle down a 50' embankment at a quarry. One female victim was trapped in the car. Command requested a ladder truck and additional rescue. Crews used ropes and rigging along with ladder to remove the victim from the ledge of the quarry. The victim was flown to a trauma center with serious injuries.

Ladder 15 arrived with heavy fire 1st floor and heavy smoke 2nd floor of a 2 story M/O/R dwelling with a reported of someone still inside. Placed 2 and 2 in service. B/C 10 arrived and placed all hands in service for heavy fire 1st and 2nd floor. FCC advised B/C 10 that he had (5) engines on the box. B/C 10 requested 3 additional medics unit to the scene and to reported to the front of ladder 15. Medics transported 1 occupant and 2 FF's to the hospital in unknown condition. Used All hands on the box.

Engine 36 arrived to find a 2 story M/O/R dwelling with light smoke showing. Placed 1 and 1 in service. B/C 13 arrived and reported light smoke showing and placed 2 and 2 in service and requested the box struck. B/C 13 directed the 3rd and 4th in engines to the exposures and advised he had heavy smoke 1st and 2nd floor. Deputy 2(Bonner) arrived and reported he had fire extending in the rear to the Delta exposure and requested 2 additional engines and 2 additional ladders above the box. Used all hands. 1 FF was treated by medics for heat related injuries.

Companies arrived to find heavy fire showing first floor of a 2-1/2 story L shaped 50x80 OMD. Fire extended to 2nd floor,attic & through the roof with limited hydrants in area. Second alarm struck on arrival followed a few minutes later by the third. Fire brought under control @ 1400 hours with numerous handlines & tower ladder stream. 4 firefighters treated for minor injuries.

Details:

Companies 55(Greenfield’s) and 30(Mount Pleasant) were dispatched to the Reading Regional airport for a reported fuel spill. Once on location it was discovered a plane clipped a large lawn tractor while landing tearing one of the wings off the plane. Chief 55(Haupt) took command and Captain 55(Fisher) had Operations at the scene. Companies went into service containing the fuel spill and pulled a line for fire protection. Due to the large amount of fuel spilled on the runway additional companies were requested to the scene. Company 10(Goodwill of Muhlenberg Twp) for there Spill Trailer and Foam Engine, Company 64 (West Reading) for an Engine and Rescue, and Company 85 (Spring Twp) for one truck with man power.

Station 10-1 on a vehicle fire in the lot of Bottinos. Command arrived and reported a working SUV fire. Upon arrival of first due Engine 10-12, they secured there supply and laid in a short distance, stretching one 1 3/4 handline. Fire was quickly knocked down with minor extension to surrounding vehicles. Engine 10-32 was second due and assited with overhaul. FI on location. DEPTFORD TWP., NJ- On the afternoon of July 31, 2008 Deptford ESU (squad 995) was dispatched to the rear of the petsmart store in Deptford Crossings for a MVC. Communications was advising a car vs tree with a minor injury. Upon the arrival of BLS 995 and Deptford Police a vehicle was found approximately 50 feet down an embankment with 2 patients, no entrapment. The BLS special called for the rescue for pt. removal via a stokes basket. At 3:18 pm Rescue Company 938 was dispatched to the scene. Upon the arrival of Rescue 938 and Duty Engine 921 a stokes basket was deployed and a 4:1 haulsafe was set up using the rescue's anchor point as a high point. Crews assisted EMS and removed the pt. from the vehicle and lashed the pt. in the stokes and the pt. was removed and extricated in 7 minutes. The pt. was taken to an area hospital and the driver refused treatment. Chief S. Hubbs (901) had command and Capt. R. Taylor from the rescue company had operations . B/C 1 arrived to find heavy fire 1st floor and heavy smoke showing 2nd floor fo a 2 story 15x35 M/O/R dwelling. Placed 2 and 2 in serivce. B/C 1 placed the 3rd and 4th enignes in serivice in each of the exposure dwellings. Used all hands. 1 FF was transported by Medic 21 to Hahnemann University Hospital with unknown injuries.

7301,Rescue 738 and Squad 739 arrived to find a school bus vs. car with muitple injuries on the bus and in the car. the driver was board and collared and transported to hospital. Command requested 10 additonal BLS ambulances to transport numerous kids from the bus to the hospital with minor injuries. Engine 511, 811 and Ladder 516 assisted on scene.
