Chief-65 arrived on scene heavy fire showing from the second floor of a dwelling. Engine-65 lead off with a heaviest water lines. Command requested the second alarm struck for a fully involved structure. Numerous master streams and ladder pipes placed in service.

Details:

CMD O/S at the National Park Dredge site reporting a large area of brush to be burning. The site is owned by the Army Corps of Engineers. Companies from National Park, Westville and Colonial Manor worked for 8 plus hour with 3 Engine Companies, 2 brush trucks and 30 plus personnel containing the fire, while extinguishing numerous hot spots, and protecting the exposures of the surrounding the community.

County dispatched Dist. 39 fire for the dwelling. Police arrived and reported heavy smoke from the chimney followed shortly by a reported basement fire with explosions. First arriving fire units reported heavy smoke showing and to strike the all hands for the box as well as a ric team. First in crew made entry through the front door only to find the bulk of the fire was in a separate section of the home which had been split into a multi family residence. The fire was found to be overhead and heavily involved into the attic. The second alarm was struck shortly there after. Crews made an aggressive interior attack while the truck opened up. Battalion Chief 504 Wiltsey on scene reported heavy fire in the rear of a two story dwelling. Squad 51 quickly knocked the exterior fire down and crews checked for extension no injuries reported. Companies held for extensive overhaul. The fire is being investigated by Camden Fire Marshal's Office.

Initial call reported a wall on fire in a multi-familiy dwelling. Additional calls from passing motorists from a nearby highway confirmed a working fire. Initial reports could not confirm all occupants were out. After FD arrival, Chief 7-5-2 (Johns) reported all occupants out and accounted for. Bulk of the fire was located on the C/D corner and was held to that area. Fire placed under control 18:44.

B/C 10 arrived to find a 3 story M/O/R 15X45 dwelling with medium smoke showing from the rear. Placed 2 and 2 in service. B/C 10 addvised they had heavy fire 2nd floor, placed all hands in service. S/C 2 additional engines and 1 ladder above the box. Deputy 2 reported companies had difficulty making the 2nd floor and he had all hands in service with the special calls. Companies were dispatched to the 900 Block of Providence road for a brush fire.(This area of Chester County is Delco 41's Local) While units were enroute Chesco notified Chief 41 that is was a very large brush fire. Command reqd addt units from Chester County Stations 3,4,5 , Delaware County Stations 64 and redispatch for Station 41 for manpower. Details:

Squad 10-9, Engine 10-2, Rescue 10-3, Life Support 2 County reported a overturned mvc with one male entraped at Fries Mill Road & BlackHorse Pike. Station 10-2 arrived to a vehicle on its driverside with a occupant standing inside the vehicle. Companies quickly stabilized the vehicle and removed the windshield, freeing the occupant who had refused medical transport.

At 11:27 PM Thursday February 26, 2009 Cherry Hill Firefighters received an emergency call reporting a smoke condition in the area of Laurel Hill Drive. Subsequent calls confirmed a fire in a single family home at 27 Laurel Hill Drive in the Charleston Woods development. On arrival firefighters found a well-advanced fire and the report of a person still inside the home. As firefighters mounted an interior attack with hoselines, other firefighters rapidly searched the home trying to locate the overcome victim in the fire. Firefighters discovered one victim deceased in a rear bedroom. The victim was identified as Robert Kolar age 84. Fire Investigators determined that the fire originated in the rear bedroom where the deceased male was located. The cause of the fire is the use of smoking material in proximity to the bed. The Cherry Hill Fire Department Fire Marshal, Cherry Hill Police Detectives, Camden County Fire Marshal and Camden County Prosecutors Office are jointly investigating this fire. This single alarm fire brought three Engine Companies, two Ladder Companies, One Emergency Medical Service unit, the Fire Scene Rehabilitative Unit and 45 Cherry Hill Firefighters. Battalion 2 reported a 2 story M/O/R occupied dwelling with smoke showing from the 2nd floor, placed all hands in service.Battalion 2 at the 10 minute mark had heavy fire from the 2nd floor, the fire was knocked down and placed under control. One civilian was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. The Fire Marshal is investigating.
