Chief 1600 (Burnett) immediately responded and was advised by central that one caller reported a separate shed to be on fire. As units were responding, Central informed 1600 that police were on location reporting a well involved shed. Chief 1600 arrived on location and reported a shed well involved that did extend into a building. Moments later he requested "all companies in service". 1600 informed Central that the building that the shed had extended to now had fire through the roof. Within a few minutes CP16 requested the 2nd Alarm to the scene. At the 15 minute mark, CP16 informed Central that he had numerous handlines in service to extinguish the fire. Chief 3100 (Constantine) worked with 1600 at the Command Post to direct and coordinate incoming apparatus. Units also dispatched to the scene were: Ladder 231, Quint 361 (Mount Laurel), Engine 272 (Westampton), Task Force 90 RIT (Burlington City), Ladder 701 (Riverside), Engine 111 (Delanco), Engine 302 (Burlington Twp.), RIT 201 (Cinnaminson), Station 239, Station 129, & the County FM. Additionally, Engine 401 & Ladder 903 were called in to cover Station 161. The fire was placed under control at approximately 5:47 PM. Purchase Ron's Photos Here

Details:

Engine 16, Rescue 16 and BLS 16 arrived to find a vehicle overturned and on fire with power lines down across the highway with a victim laying on the ground. 2 civilians rescued the trapped and injured occupant out of the burning vehicle prior to crews arriving. Crews knocked down the fire and waited for PSEG to secure the power before full extinguishment. One lane of Rt. 130 was shut down for 14 hours.

Station 10-2 and Squad 10-9 were dispatched for a reported MVC with fire & possible entrapment in the area of Walmart on the Black Horse Pike. Police arrived and reported a fully involved car and confirmed entrapment in the second vehicle. Command requested Rescue 1038 be added to the job. One patient was removed prior to fire department arrival. Engine 10-2 extinguished the car fire while squad 10-9 and police worked on the patients. One patient transported by South Star & one patient transported by ground both to Cooper Trauma for multiple injuries including burns. Landing zone was set up at United Artist Theater. Washington Township Police & Dist 10 FI on location for investigation. Responding units remained on scene to assist with lighting.

Battalion 2 (Phelps) reported a 2 story occupied E/O/R dwelling 30x30 with heavy fire from the 1st floor, Engine 11 arrived and lead off with 2 1/2 inch waterline, during the attack of the fire an explosion occurred on the 2nd floor blowing out the windows, B/C Phelps was injured in the explosion, the 2nd alarm was transmitted by A/C Dilks, all members were accounted for and the injured member was transported to Cooper Hospital. Command arrived with a 3story end of the row, smoke showing all floors with a hydrant outfront. Engine9-2 and Tower5 arrived and found fire running the walls and quickly extending into the exposure and the roof. Crews opened up and had fire in the walls on all 3 floors and the roof and a 2nd Alarm was requested for additional manpower to help continue to openup. The fire was placed under control within 90 minutes.

700 had a car vs. a PSE&G pole with serious injuries. Rescue 738 and Engine 811 secured the PSE&G pole and the fluids on the roadway, Squad 73 and Life Support 1 transported the driver to Cooper Tramua.
