Pennsauken Twp. Firefighters along with EMS were dispatched to the area of 2181 Old Haddonfield Road for a reported Dwelling Fire. One cell phone transfer call was received for a reported house on fire near the old Pennsauken Mart. Upon arrival, 11102 (1st Captain William Hertline III) reported a 2 1/2 story SFD with heavy smoke and fire showing from the 2nd floor and attic. Squad Co. 11-1 arrived an operated with two 1 3/4 handlines within 3 mins. It was reported that there was a strong odor of Gasoline within the home, and at this time all crews were pulled from interior operations. 1100 (1101 B. Patti, an BC Palumbo) reported that crews were then stretched two 2 1/2 lines, 1 elevated waterway, one deck gun, and portable ground monitor to attack the fire. When the fire was darkened down from the exterior, crews were sent in to completed overhaul of the 2nd floor and attic area. The fire was placed under control at approx 0300 Hrs. There were no reported injuries at the scene, and the fire is under investigation by the Pennsauken Bureau of Fire Prevention and The Camden Co. Fire Marshals Office. Story by Greg Taylor
